Conference: Energy within planetary boundaries

How do we boost the phasing out of fossil fuels and build a 100 per cent clean and renewable energy system, so that Denmark becomes a zero-emission society by 2040 at the latest and can stay within the planetary limits?

This is the main question at a major energy conference, which the Green Transition Denmark is holding on 30 September in Copenhagen in collaboration with eight leading Danish companies.

Several leading international experts participate in the conference. It is, among other things, Stanford professor Mark Z. Jacobson, author of a number of internationally recognized books on how to build a 100% renewable energy system - most recently the book "No Miracles Needed."

Another keynote speaker is Frauke Thies. She is the CEO of the German Agora Think Tanks, including Agora Energiewende, Agora Industry and Agora Agriculture as well as the sister organization Agora Transport. Frauke Thies has blue. been appointed by Euractiv as one of the most influential experts in relation to the EU's energy policy.

At the conference, you can also meet the Oxford professor, Nick Eyre, who, among other things, is known for his analyzes of how to save 40 per cent. of all energy consumption if you replace fossil fuels with direct green electricity.

The Danish climate and energy minister, Lars Aagaard, and a number of top managers in Danish energy companies have also announced their arrival at the conference, where RGO is presenting a new report on how Denmark and the EU can build a new nature-positive energy system that stays within planetary boundaries .

The report has been prepared by RGO after thorough discussions with the project's partners COWI, Danfoss, European Energy, Google, Grundfos, Innargi, Norlys and Vestas.

The conference will be held in the New Theater in Copenhagen on September 30 at 9-16, and you can download the program here .

Participation in the conference is free. The total costs for catering, speakers and other expenses are calculated at DKK 814 per participant. After support from various partners, the net cost has been brought down to DKK 493 per participant.

RGO is an independent non-profit environmental organization with limited financial resources, and we will therefore be grateful if you, as a participant, choose to make a donation to RGO. If you give e.g. DKK 500 - then we can cover our expenses and also ensure that, among other things, young people with fewer funds can attend the conference for free. Larger donations to support our work will also be gladly received.

Note: Donations to RGO are tax deductible. Donations are made here: Support us.
