From agricultural support to climate support?
Green Transition Denmark invites a debate meeting. Here, members of the EU Parliament meet with farmers to debate EU agricultural support in the future.
When: Saturday 18 June at 11.00-11.30
Where: The Climate and Energy Tent (C34) at Folkemødet, Bornholm
With the latest CAP reform, among other things, eco-schemes are introduced, which help to channel parts of the EU's agricultural support towards climate, environment and nature measures. The direct hectare support is to a greater extent conditional on areas being managed in ways that have a positive effect on biodiversity, the environment and the climate.
Are the farmers of the future as much carbon and nature managers as they are food producers?
To what extent should the EU manage the national strategic plans in detail?
What must be required of agriculture to get a share of the support? Can one imagine conditional support on the basis of farm statements rather than e.g. eco-schemes – or a combination?
