Launch event: Circular construction − From thought to political action

Join us when the Green Transition Denmark launches the report Circular construction: From thought to political action. The report maps the many legislative gaps and unrealized potentials for circular construction and offers new suggestions on how we can accelerate the circular conversion of construction. Meet, among other things, politicians and important players in the construction industry's value chain.

The report is a hand out to political Denmark and was initiated by Realdania, with a desire to contribute to a common understanding and dialogue about how we in Denmark create the framework for circular construction. With the report, we want to kick-start a significant change and call for action before it is too late.

At the launch event, we will therefore, together with politicians and the industry, focus on the concrete circular challenges in the legislation. We will discuss how we can move from circular visions to concrete practice, thereby increasing the pace of the transition to a more sustainable and circular construction.

For years we have been talking about circular construction and how important it is for both the industry, the environment and the climate. But still, the circular transformation of construction is going far too slowly in Denmark. Construction today accounts for around a third of Denmark's total CO2 footprint and 40 per cent. of all our waste. Looking ahead, those curves still do not seem to break - unless we act and reverse the trend.

Therefore, there is an urgent need to scale up the circular effort and speed up the conversion of construction. We must move from circular visions to circular practices.
