Morning webinar: Tax on biomass – why and how?

Come and hear professionals give their take on the best possible model for a tax on biomass.

Time: Wednesday 2 March, at 9:00-10:30

Place: Online - link will be sent out by email before the event

In this webinar, we focus on why we should have a tax on all the biomass we burn in the cogeneration plants and in the stoves, and how such a tax can best be put together. How quickly should it be phased in? How high should it be? Should the tax be differentiated between different types of biomass? How do we get the small units? How will it affect heating customers and what do the political prospects look like?

Join the webinar, learn more about the topic and get the opportunity to debate with:

  • Jette Bredahl Jacobsen, deputy chairman of the Climate Council and professor of environmental and resource economics at the University of Copenhagen
  • Christian Ege, consultant at the Green Transition Denmark
  • Karsten Capion, senior analyst at CONCITO
  • Jesper Koch, head of analysis at Dansk Fjernvarme

Afterwards, there will be time for an open debate between the four presenters. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to the presenters.

Moderator: Claus Ekman, director of the Green Transition Denmark
