CANCELED: The journey to Utopia - The fight for the climate / CPH:Meetings
What can we do? And how far must we go in the name of the climate?
Film: The journey to Utopia - followed by a panel debate on climate change and how we relate to it - as a society and as ordinary citizens.
In 'Journey to Utopia' we follow the Norwegian/Danish family Mo, who live an idyllic life on the family farm in the Norwegian mountains. The only downside is that they will have to commute to work by plane, and both mom and dad suffer from a nagging climate conscience and a need to do something – for the planet and for their children's future. Therefore, they decide to move to Denmark to the self-sufficient, ecological village collective Karise Permatopia. But it is easier to have the right opinions than to live them out, and the price of idealism is high.
After the film, we have a panel discussion with politicians, experts, "climate freaks" and climate skeptics about what we can do as citizens to strengthen the climate? And can we even do anything or is it too late? What can society do? And should we be as worried as many of us go around and are?
