Webinar: Can EU waste water regulations make a difference to the sea?

After a multi-year political process, the EU's Council of Ministers has finally approved the revised Urban Wastewater Directive – a directive that was first adopted in 1991 and has not been updated since. The directive must be implemented in national legislation by autumn 2027 at the latest.

In Denmark, we discharge many environmentally hazardous substances into our marine environment via the waste water. For many years, there has been an almost one-sided focus on cleaning our waste water of nutrients, but in the revised Urban Waste Water Directive, increased requirements are now being placed on cleaning for environmentally hazardous substances, just as extended producer responsibility is being introduced.

But will the implementation of the urban waste water directive contribute to creating a better chemical state in our garden? What will it take to see a quick effect and when can we actually expect the Danish marine environment to achieve good condition again?

Green Transition Denmark is keenly aware of this Wednesday 18 December at 9-10.

We will send a link to the webinar the day before.

Our program will include:
