Webinar: How can we best achieve the EU's goals for CCS?
The European Parliament has recently decided that in the future large amounts of CO2 must be stored underground as part of the effort against global warming and to achieve the EU's climate goals for 2050.
As part of the effort, the EU's Innovation Fund has granted the equivalent of DKK 25 billion for the development of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects. Great steps have also been taken in this area in Denmark: A new CCS support pool of 28 billion Danish kroner has been set up with the aim of promoting both the capture and storage of CO₂.
The CCS technology can be implemented in industries with large CO₂ emissions, but the question is how the subsidies are best used. Analyzes from the Green Transition Denmark and CONCITO raise doubts about state support for CO₂ capture in wood-fired plants – a solution that could possibly delay the green transition. CCS at waste incineration plants can make a positive contribution to the climate from day one. On the other hand, it can take considerably longer before CCS on wood-fired plants produces a similar effect.
Join this exciting webinar for an in-depth review of the key figures and calculations of the analysis. Gain insight into how the CCS funds can be used most effectively in relation to the green transition. Come and meet senior consultant Erik Tang from the Green Transition Denmark and senior analyst Tobias Johan Sørensen from CONCITO.
