Yes or no to a windmill in your backyard?

What will it take for backyard wind and solar to become a local success rather than a failure?

Time: Saturday 17 June at 12.20-13.00

Location: Climate and Energy Scene (C36), Folkemødet Bornholm

When wind turbines and solar cells are to be set up around the country, there is sometimes so much opposition that the projects are delayed by years or end up dead.

The debate is about both nature and wildlife and the ugly view. However, there are also many examples of local communities embracing their turbines and solar cells – and even taking the initiative to establish wind and solar themselves.

When does it go well – and when does it go wrong? We debate this with citizens, politicians, researchers etc.

Panelists:

Helle Munk Ravnborg, person in charge of the Initiative Group for Bornholm's Offshore Wind Farm (She is also a municipal board member for Enhedslisten, Bornholm's Regional Municipality and person in Bornholm's Energy and Supply (BEOF)).

Linda Kofoed Persson, municipal council member for the Danish People's Party, Bornholm's Regional Municipality.
