Green Transition Denmark is a green solution think tank that delivers concrete, realizable and ambitious solutions that can accelerate the transition to an absolutely sustainable society.

Our DNA

We are an independent non-profit environmental organization that for more than three decades has been known and recognized for advising and informing about the green transition.

On a knowledge-based and solid professional basis, we want to set the agenda and help political and economic decision-makers in Denmark, the Nordic region and the EU to make forward-looking and robust decisions for the benefit of the green transition.

We like to collaborate with many people, and we enter into partnerships on specific projects, but our analyzes and proposed solutions are always independent.

RGO is not bound by private economic and organizational interests and is free from party political ties. RGO serves the green cause.

Vision

Green and sustainable society

We work for a green and sustainable society, where people can live a healthy life with a high quality of life within the planetary boundaries and in respect for the nature of which we are a part. We are ambitious on behalf of the next generations. We want forward-looking legislation that secures the climate, promotes biodiversity and takes care of nature's limited resources.

CO2 neutral Denmark

The goal is to create a CO2-neutral Denmark and the EU, which by 2040 has completely freed itself from fossil fuels and the burning of forest-based biomass.

It must be developed into a climate-positive society and a regenerative economy, where we give more to nature than we take and emit. It must be a waste-free society, where pollution and harmful chemicals do not threaten citizens' health and the environment.

Well-thought-out overall solutions

We are economic realists on behalf of nature. We are looking for comprehensive solutions that can be quickly scaled up and which are 100 per cent sustainable and socially balanced. These solutions must minimize energy and resource consumption as much as possible.
We deliver sharp, innovative and professionally well-founded analyzes and reform proposals, so that we can be a trustworthy and valuable partner for society's decision-makers.
RGO will operate as a modern green solutions think tank, which is so attractive that the next generations of green frontrunners want to work at or with us.


We create green changes with others

RGO is a catalytic solution think tank that will create green social innovation. Our communication and working methods are based on the basic recognition that we cannot change the world alone, but only together with others.

Our main target group is therefore decision-makers in parties, organisations, public authorities and companies, who, through their actions and communication, can shift attitudes in the wider population and get consumers to change their behaviour.

Through systems thinking, policy development, consultancy and lobbying, we will promote sustainable and resource-efficient solutions within the planetary boundaries. We gather and disseminate deep professional knowledge, we involve others via co-creation, and we build new innovation platforms and future labs with our partners to develop the next generation of transformative green solutions.

Our change method

Strategic leadership

We are strengthening our governance structure to ensure greater dynamism. The board lays down the overall strategic lines for RG0's further development. The board, in cooperation with the director, must ensure that the strategy is implemented and that the secretariat continuously presents green solution proposals that bring us closer to the shared vision. We are abolishing the professional committee and will henceforth involve the professional experts on an ad-hoc basis in connection with projects, workshops, future labs and conferences. At the same time, we are establishing a new advisory body, the Advisory Board, where member organisations, member companies and selected professional experts meet to give advice and ideas to RGO.
