Who are we
Green Transition Denmark is an independent environmental organization that works to promote a green and sustainable transformation of society. We do this by creating and disseminating knowledge about green solutions and by influencing politicians, companies and citizens to make green choices.
Green Transition Denmark
We focus on a wide range of topics within the climate and environmental agendas. These topics are interconnected and important, which means that we focus our efforts across the feilds and finding solutions that bring us to the finish line on all the green fronts.
The green transition requires solid knowledge of the technical, regulatory and behavioral challenges, and here we offer a high professional level, extensive experience and a healthy, collaborative approach. We actively participate in the public debate and advocate for the environment and the climate.
We have been on the green track for more than 30 years and have contributed with knowledge, proposed solutions and popular information and debate, which together have helped to pull society in a greener and more sustainable direction. And we keep going because we are driven by the belief in a better and greener society without pollution and unpredictable climate change.

Our values
In RGO, we are curious, inquisitive pathfinders and solution makers who work to promote ambitious, realistic and sustainable political and economic changes for the benefit of people and nature.
Strategic leadership
We are strengthening our governance structure to ensure greater dynamism. The board lays down the overall strategic lines for RG0's further development. The board, in cooperation with the director, must ensure that the strategy is implemented and that the secretariat continuously presents green solution proposals that bring us closer to the shared vision. We are abolishing the professional committee and will henceforth involve the professional experts on an ad-hoc basis in connection with projects, workshops, future labs and conferences. At the same time, we are establishing a new advisory body, the Advisory Board, where member organisations, member companies and selected professional experts meet to give advice and ideas for RGO.
Our Story
The association behind the Council was formed in 1991 because a small group of zealots believed that more needed to be done to correct the major environmental problems that marked the end of the eighties. When the state paid for the Economic Council, which had its eyes fixed on the economy, an independent council had to be set up to deal with the environment. Thus, the Ecological Council was formed.
The word Ecology described a different approach than the purely economic one, but the words partly have the same origin: Oikos, which in Greek means house or household. The difference lies in the endings of the words, where logos means teaching or knowledge of while nomos means control of.
The tone was set, and the council struggled to create a counterweight to the narrow economic paradigm that too often characterized regulation in the environmental field. Over time, the organization has grown, and now maintains a secretariat with approx. 12 employees who work hard every day for the association's purpose: to promote a green and sustainable restructuring of society.
